HISTORY OF SHOP

... flowers of the highest quality and packaged immaculately, their friendly, personable demeanour made it a pleasure to walk into their shop.

Eden Floral Design was first established in March, 2000 as a private business. At that time, Rebecca Steiner Carrion, owner of Eden, started by boldly walking into as many shops, offices, restaurants and cafes as she could find. Asking if they would like to start an account by seeing what she could do, she had a miraculous success rate. With an interminable amount of energy and enthusiasm the business grew exponentially. It was at that time that the first Eden Floral Design shop was opened as part of an emporium.

With an ever-increasing popularity, Eden Floral Design was then established in its first solo venture, the beautiful boutique that was at 219 Clovelly Road, Clovelly in April, 2002. It was there that true ‘Eden style’ was borne with its signature wrapping first being implemented; a style that has become synonymous with the store, fresh petals and handmade papers adorning every gift.

When the shop first opened its doors, Rebecca had a desire to complement the flowers she was selling in the store with a few candles, vases, plants and soaps. Within a very short while, it had become quite evident that these were also becoming highly sought after. Realising that she and her clientele were looking for something individual and different, Rebecca decided to venture overseas to seek new ideas and designs to purchase for the shop something other than what was being offered in Sydney. The new shipment of incense, candles, glassware and bath products were an instant success. After six wonderful years at Clovelly Road, Eden had grown to possess a loyal clientele, more like an extended family. It was a business that was well known for its quality and service and renowned for its presentation. In 2008, Rebecca spotted an incredible new location further up the road, in an amazing building where the business could spread its wings even further.

In June 2008, the new Eden Floral Design was opened at 49 Frenchmans Road Randwick. Since opening, the store has been continually metamorphosing, with the range of new designs and unique pieces constantly changing. It is now an iconic part of the Kensington - Randwick area.

Every year, Rebecca still searches overseas to find a new and exciting collection of ceramics, bath products and perfumes and has now released the first range of her own designs of glassware and jewellery.

In August 2010, we at Eden are thrilled to announce the launch of our new website. The sky is the limit!
